Recent resolutions on Hungary from the World Union for Progressive Judaism

The resolutions (read in the document attached) explain the concerns of WUPJ on the anti-Semitic incidents and rhetoric visible in Hungary, and also confront the Government of Hungary on reducing the legal status of WUPJ’s local member congregations in the infamous “Church Law” resulting in loss of tax benefit status and other legal and operational constraints.

The two Hungarian Progressive/Reform congregations: Sim Shalom and Bet Orim are both member congregations of WUPJ, which is an international religious umbrella organization with close to 2 million members in 1,200 communities.
